I live in Tokyo, but I finally visited the Skytree for the first time.

So, even though I live in Tokyo, I finally went to the Tokyo Skytree for the first time.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but once I got up to the observation deck, I was blown away by the view—it was far beyond what I had imagined, and I found myself moved by it, even though I was alone.

In this post, I’d like to share what it was like from the Skytree’s observation deck.

Walking from Asakusa Station

The Skytree is located right by Tokyo Skytree Station, so it’s super easy to get there by train.
But I wanted to walk, so I strolled over from Asakusa Station instead.

As expected of such a tall structure, you can really feel its height even from a distance, long before you get close.

Finally, I bought my ticket and headed inside.

The view from the observation deck

After a one-minute ride on the high-speed elevator, you arrive at the observation floor—where the view is already a whole different world.

Since it’s surrounded by glass, the view is spectacular. You can see a full 360 degrees, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Tokyo Bay.

Even the nearby Sumida River looks this small from here.

In some areas, there are even glass floors, so honestly, it might be pretty tough for people with a fear of heights.

Personally, though, I feel that going up once is enough for me.

Finally

Since it costs a fairly high 3,100 yen for adults to go all the way to the top of the Skytree, it’s a good idea to get an advance ticket at 7-Eleven before you go."
